Great Price "Hoover 5507-900 Elite Auto-Rewind Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner" Today

We purchased this vacuum in August 2009 when we adopted a dog that sheds A LOT. The vacuum works great as long as we clean the HEPA filter every couple months. Every time I clean the filter there is plenty of very fine dirt, so I'm satisfied it's doing its job. The only complaints I have are 1) the vacuum itself is very heavy and can be hard to push after awhile, but I would assume that's just the trade-off for the amount of power this has, 2) the brush does run when you are using the hose extension so you have to make sure not to leave it on the carpet in one spot for too long to prevent rug burns and 3) the suction indicator on the vacuum doesn't really work - it's almost better to just empty the canister and/or clean the filter when you notice it's not picking up as much as it used to. This has been an excellent vacuum for the price.

Waste of Money - Amelia B. Porter -
While this vacuum may do the job, it is something I regret purchasing.I bought it as Costco and I did not research the product or any others before purchasing it, I bought it from a friend's recommendation. It is VERY difficult to take apart and put back together. When I clean it I get dirt all over myself (I don't understand this bag less vacuum craze, while it is environmentally friendly, it is in no way convenient or pleasant) To top it off, the burning smell that others have reported is something I have experienced as well. I would not waste the money, it is a very cheap quality vacuum and has a short life.
If I had another suggestion I would gladly give it. I do not have a lot of experience purchasing a vacuum, I can only assume it is worth doing a little research and investing more money.

I got this via LNT and thought to check the review on this. Whoa is it really that bad? My first use of it was pretty good, beside the canister (holds the dust) won't snap on easily, you have to apply force. And the hair won't drop out as expected, had to dig in and drag it out.

Only had this for a short year. We have a Windtunnel 1 that works great as long as you replace the hepa-filter every 6 months or so. We thought the 2 would be much better but boy were we wrong! This thing is 100% cheap plastic. The bottom base plate fell off after a few months and the only way to get it back on was to duct tape it! Next there is a filter that spins and is supposed to "self clean". Well, it did for a while then it stopped spinning and there is no way to replace it without taking the whole thing apart. Nobody has that filter in the town we are in. To clean the thing we have to empty the clear bucket and then take our Windtunnel 1 out and clean the rest of the machine with it otherwise all the suction is gone. 2 days ago we went out and bought a Dyson. Yea, they are much more expensive, but it works great and we we know several people that have owned one for years. This WT2 is so bad I am embarassed to bring it to Good Will for fear some needy person will get stuck with it! It is now in the dumpster at the back of my office, the only place a Windtunnel 2 belongs.

Although it sucks well and mine is still functioning ok after 2.5 years, it is disgusting and messy to empty, dust/dirt gets everywhere including all over the vacuum. It is also extremely heavy, especially if you have stairs. Do not buy this vacuum.

I had researched this on Consumer reports. I was a decent rating, but not the best, but the best was like 0 to 0 more. So I figured get this. The reason for getting this was an older Hoover Windtunnel was great but was too heavy to haul around. This was a true surprise. The item is much lighter, not as big a motor, but I will tell you did a great job. Pet hair, floor really good. Filled up so fast it scared me. If there is a negative, it is that you have to empty it, but consider it to a bagged unit where you generally find out you need to empty when the bag is over flowing, this is a great item, you can visually see the dirt and see to empty and it was easy to empty. This does a great job, light easy to move around, a delight. I would buy if you are looking for a deal in this price range.

A solid easy-to-use machine that handles pet hair and kitty litter equally well. I've despised bagless vacs until now. This one is easy to clean and doesn't clog and overheat as every bagless I've had in the past has. Why pay twice to six times as much for this type of cleaning capability when you don't have to? For those who have complained about the cord getting warm: yes, it does, but only if you don't pull it out all the way. As for those who have complained about the short tube that connects to the hose do what I did: buy another length of standard extension tube. It's an inexpensive accessory that works perfectly. I really like this machine.
